The Origin Of Conveyor

In 1868, the belt conveyor appeared in England; In 1887, the screw conveyor appeared in the United States; In 1905, the steel belt conveyor appeared in Switzerland; In 1906, inertial conveyors appeared in Britain and Germany. Since then, the conveyor has been affected by the technological progress of mechanical manufacturing, electrical machinery, chemical and metallurgical industries, and has been continuously improved, gradually completing the transportation within the workshop, developing to complete the material handling within the enterprise, between enterprises and even between cities, becoming an indispensable part of the development trend of mechanization and automation of the material handling system.

The development trend of conveyor is: ① Continue to large-scale development. The large scale includes several aspects such as large conveying capacity, large single machine length and large conveying Angle. The length of the hydraulic conveyor has reached more than 440 kilometers. The single length of the belt conveyor has been nearly 15 km, and there have been several “belt conveyor” connecting the two places. Many countries are exploring a more perfect conveyor structure for long-distance and large-volume continuous conveying of materials. ② Expand the scope of use of conveyor. Develop conveyors that can work in the environment of corrosive, radioactive and flammable substances under high and low temperature conditions, and can transport hot, explosive, easily clumped and viscous materials.③ Make the structure of the conveyor meet the requirements of the automatic control of the material handling system for the single machine. For example, the trolley conveyor used by the post office to automatically sort parcels should be able to meet the requirements of the sorting action.④Reducing energy consumption to save energy has become an important aspect of scientific research in the field of transportation technology. The energy consumed by transporting 1 ton of material 1 kilometer has been taken as one of the important indicators of conveyor selection. ⑤ Reduce the dust, noise and exhaust gas emitted by various conveyors during operation.
