BOOTEC supplied a laterally movable wet slag conveyor with a clear width of three meters and a centre distance of around 18 meters, including chassis and associated rails. The wet deslagger is directly connected to the rotary kiln. The innovative geometry of its inlet funnel means that the hot product flow of 600 °C and more is directed almost exclusively into the water bath without touching the housing of the deslagger. Two hinged inspection openings also facilitate the manual removal of impurities.
As the lining in the rotary kiln has to be replaced every year, the wet slag conveyor was fitted with running wheels and the floor with rails so that it can be moved mechanically during an inspection to allow easy access to the kiln through the large opening. The all-round platform on the discharge was attached to the wet slag remover so that everything can be moved together. This enables easy accessibility, maintenance and servicing of the kiln.
